I did not count, but my best estimate tells me there’s ~600 pins and buttons here. I comped about 40 of them. Cheapest I found sold for $4. Most expensive I found sold for $55.
The cheapest asking price on that Jimmy Carter is $350. Who knows what it’s actually worth?
But it’s not just buttons. It’s how’s it’s arranged. It’s the whole damn universe - everything - pinned to a couple of blankets. Each one, a tiny, colorful monument to some fleeting human enthusiasm.
A testament to the search. The collection. To the folks who manage to find the reason of things and trinkets and nonsense.
The beauty of display.
This is OBVIOUSLY worth way more pieced out. But this arrangement exists once and never again, so I’d like to keep it together if I can.
